Cat Ladies Cat Sitting

Cat Sitter

Not currently hiring. Please check back Summer 2026.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Cat Ladies Cat Sitting (CLCS) team! We are looking for reliable, compassionate "cat people" to provide high-quality, in-client-home cat sitting services across north and central Seattle, including downtown.

The Cat Sitter Role

This is a domestic labor position that requires a strong love for felines and a high degree of reliability. It involves a lot of physical movement, including daily driving and parking in dense urban areas.

A Typical Day

A cat-sitting day involves driving to approximately 5-8 different client homes, generally between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Each standard visit is approximately 30 minutes long. During busy periods, such as holidays and holiday-adjacent weekends, sitters take on a higher volume of clients and visit times may be temporarily abbreviated. Daily routes typically include cats requiring specific morning, mid-day (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.), and evening visits, with a 2-3 hour break during the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feeding and refreshing water.
  • Administering medications (including injections, with training provided if needed). Holiday cat sitters are not required to administer medication orally or by injection.
  • Cleaning litter boxes and expertly managing any messes (hairballs, cat vomit, or accidents).
  • Sending timely pictures and detailed updates to clients during each visit.
  • Providing general home services, such as bringing in mail, packages, or watering plants.
  • Consistently maintaining professionalism and respecting clients' homes and specific wishes.

Compensation and Employment Details

  • Pay: compensation averages around $30 per hour, supplemented by tips (typically very generous) and holiday bonuses.
  • Employment status: CLCS cat sitters are W-2 employees.
  • Payment: pay is administered bi-weekly via direct deposit.

Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

We are seeking reliable, gentle, and patient individuals who will treat our clients like their own furry babies.

  • Candidates will need access to a reliable personal vehicle with proof of insurance.
  • Candidates will need to own a smartphone with sufficient storage to download and easily use various communication and security apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Signal, August Smart Lock).
  • Candidates will be asked to provide three local job or volunteer references (non-family/friend).
  • A successful candidate will need to pass a background check.
  • Prior veterinary experience or professional cat-sitting experience is a plus.
  • Experience administering medications to felines (including injections), or the willingness and ability to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem-solve independently.
  • Residing within close proximity to our Seattle service area is preferable.

Physical Requirements

  • Candidates should be prepared to clean up all types of messes and work in homes that may be cluttered or unkempt.
  • Candidates are ideally able to climb stairs, stoop, crawl, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Candidates are expected to be compassionate, gentle, and patient with all our cat clients, no matter how feisty or difficult they may be.

We ask that job candidates have access to their own personal vehicle and proof of car insurance. Please do not apply if you are planning to commute between client homes using rideshare apps (ex: Lyft, Uber, Gig Car Share), bicycle, non-passenger motorized vehicles, or public transportation.
